Long time Kurtzman shill Anthony Pascale makes a bold choice to post on his site, Trekmovie.com, an image that has been long panned by fans of the 60 year old franchise as “insulting” to its legacy. That image, which highlights his latest headline, is an official image created by Secret Hideout’s marketing team of a legacy STAR TREK image that does not feature William Shatner’s Captain James T. Kirk.

With the current state of STAR TREK in question, including no new series green lights or renewals, no movies green lit, and the abysmal performance of STARFLEET ACADEMY, Skydance has yet to reveal its true plans for the franchise. Having just bought Warner Brothers, destroying Netflix’s bid, the question becomes even more profound. Trekmovie quotes STAR TREK as being a “compelling” brand, which doesn’t necessarily harbor a positive meaning. Of course, as the shill that he is, Pascale spins it positively. Yet, there is nothing to be positive about when it comes to the current state of STAR TREK.
As previously reported, Amazon Japan will be dumping Paramount Plus at the end of March, 2026. This is coming off of the previously reported abysmal performance of its current offering. The ratio between professional and audience ratings is astounding with an overwhelming number massively disappointed with STARFLEET ACADEMY. Shills continue to cite so-called “review bombing,” but official viewership numbers do not lie, with the show failing to breach the top 10 Nielsen streaming for the second month in a row. SA had broken into the top 10 after its premiere but it was never seen again, indicating a massive drop in viewership.
The latest news coming out of social media is in regards to attacks on William Shatner. YouTuber @JDA Talks Trek runs with this story. You can find his video on the platform. Suffice it to say, it’s more than a coincidence that this story breaks out and at the same time Anthony Pascale, who heavily curates his comments section to exclude anyone who doesn’t like Kurtzman Trek, pushes his latest story with an image that does NOT include William Shatner. The image doesn’t include Kirk AT ALL, and that’s the most concerning point.
The image of Kirk against NuTrek is very problematic. Most of the X community, and the fives and tens who are fans of NuTrek, will tell you that. Jim Kirk is the white male colonizer rapist, and that’s half the story. These are the same people, including Pascale, who think the Borg are symbolic of white supremacy. These are the same people who champion FFN sex scenes both Klingon and smooth skinned humanoids over actual story because their shows have no substance otherwise. Trekmovie commenters posting, “it took my breath away” is telling about which part of the episode they were speaking for.
Where gender, identity politics, and publicly announcing what you do in the bedroom behind closed doors becomes more important on a science fiction TV show than the science fiction, itself. Who’s sleeping with who and in what position becomes the flavor of the week where other main plot points fall flat. Of course, pointing anything negative out about Kurtzman Trek is certainly going to get you cancelled by Pascale and his ilk.
STAR TREK was never meant to be this edgy. Gene Roddenberry and Rick Berman came close to being racy but not full blown X rated porn. STAR TREK NEMESIS gave us an intimate scene between a MARRIED Riker and Deanna but that turned into a mental rape torture, and never meant to be racy in the first place. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS gave us an Alice Eve underwear shot but it was not sexual in nature. Berman gave us many scenes of extreme raciness in STAR TREK ENTERPRISE but none of these crosses a threshold. A point of no return that cheapens every character involved.
STARFLEET ACADEMY did just that.
In the end, Pascale will have to sit on the fact that STAR TREK is about to die. Punishing naysayers who disagree with him is his MO and has been for a long time. Choosing to use the very image that sparked so much ire from TREK fans is further proof that Pascale has been out of touch for over twenty years, since his failed attempt to get ENTERPRISE renewed back in 2005. He is out of touch with the fans. He’s out of touch with STAR TREK in general. It’s a shame really that we only have people like Nerdrotic and Geeks + Gamers to rely on for actual news regarding STAR TREK that has no filter.
Trekmovie is a rage baiting rag. Nothing more. Nothing less.
